After much consideration the EEC Committee has decided not to renew the annual contract at Fitness 360 Arabian Centre. This is due to a downturn in the EEC Membership numbers which impacts our annual budget and thus the the Club cannot afford to renew this contract.
All other memberships contracts will be renewed as and when their contracts expire.
Le Meridien have provided an exclusive offer for EEC members at Yalumba restaurant – Dhs 149 for up to 10 guests (normal price Dhs 169). Details shown in the enclosed attachment.
Dear EEC Members,
As you are all aware, the UAE government has introduced VAT in the UAE from 1st January 2018, and after a number of meetings with the Emirates VAT & Taxation Legal team they have stated that Emirates Engineers Club (EEC) will be affected and are required to register the EEC Club for a VAT number.
With this in mind, the EEC Club are required to pay VAT on our monthly contributions received from its members.
Unfortunately, this cost cannot be absorbed by the EEC Club and the monthly membership fee will need to be increased to the following with effect from April 2018;
Family Membership – from 140dhs to 150dhs/month (7%)
Single Membership – from 70dhs to 75dhs/month (7%)
We appreciate that the increase is slightly more than 5% but there has not been an increase in the monthly fee for approximately 5 years.
If the EEC Club is to maintain the facilities we currently have membership at, this increase is definitely required. Your continued support of the EEC Club is fully appreciated
The EEC Committee will shortly be sending out an online survey to get your feedback as well as asking questions on what you would like to see from the EEC Club.
For your feedback and comments, please send your emails to email@example.com
We have added a new gym Fidelity Fitness, located in Almas Towers, JLT. We have also cleaned the site, removing gyms which have now closed (ASQM) or where we were unable to renew the contract (Fitness First).
Please check out the updated rates at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club. This now includes weekends.
The AQSM gym at Safa park is now called HM (Handy Manny) Gym. The same conditions still apply as before.
The EEC are pleased to announce two new gyms that will be coming on line from 1st June 2014, these are:
- Fitness 360, situated in Mirdif, and
- Fitness 4 Life, located in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
We have purchased 10 rolling Memberships at each club – further details can be seen in the appropriate club web pages.
The Jebel Ali membership page has been updated to reflect the new discounts we have negotiated with them. We now get 35% discount on F&B at the restaurants listed (previously it was 20%).
UPDATE (September 25, 2013): Guest prices have increased and are now reflected on the web page.
Because of a major virus attack on the EEC website, we have had to delete the old EEC site. Therefore, we will have to upload all the content again, which we will continue to do as we can.
As most of the site was infected, we felt it prudent to “start afresh”, and thus we have also lost all the old posts.
Whilst we are in this transition phase, please bear with us.. The site might look different each time you visit!
